Asset Management Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive asset management strategies to maximize the performance, longevity, and value of machinery and equipment, including machinery worth ?400-500 crores. o Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and best practices in asset management. Lead the creation and implementation of long-term asset management plans, aligning with organizational goals and financial objectives.
Procurement and Purchase Management: Oversee the procurement process for machinery and equipment, ensuring costeffective purchasing while maintaining quality and operational efficiency. Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure the best prices, terms, and conditions for asset purchases. o Manage the end-to-end purchasing cycle for machinery, ensuring timely and accurate procurement aligned with business needs.
Asset Lifecycle Management: Oversee the lifecycle of all assets, from acquisition to disposal, ensuring assets are tracked, maintained, and disposed of according to company policies and industry standards. o Implement asset maintenance schedules, ensuring minimal downtime and extending the life of critical machinery. Monitor the condition and performance of assets regularly to predict potential failures and reduce operational risks.
Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of professionals within the asset management department, setting performance standards, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Conduct regular performance reviews and professional development initiatives to ensure the team is up to date on best practices and technologies.
Budgeting and Financial Management: Develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial guidelines. Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate cost forecasting, asset depreciation tracking, and financial reporting for asset management activities.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring high-quality service delivery, on-time deliveries, and post-purchase support for machinery and equipment. Coordinate with external contractors for repair and maintenance services, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all assets comply with legal, environmental, and safety regulations. Develop risk management strategies to mitigate risks related to asset performance, maintenance, and procurement.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present regular reports on asset performance, procurement activities, and departmental KPIs to senior management. Maintain comprehensive records of asset acquisitions, maintenance schedules, repairs, and disposals.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or relevant certifications in asset management is a plus.
Experience: 12-15 years of experience in asset management or a similar role, with at least 5-7 years in a leadership position. oExperience in the Transmission Industry is mandatory, with a deep understanding of mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment used in the transmission sector. Proven experience in managing high-value machinery assets (?400-500 crores) in a large-scale manufacturing or industrial environment. Expertise in procurement, vendor management, and lifecycle management of complex machinery.
