Skipper Adopts Argon-CO₂ Gas Mix to Cut Carbon Emissions and Enhance Sustainability  

As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency, Skipper Limited’s Uluberia Unit has initiated the replacement of CO₂ gas with an Argon-CO₂ mix (80:20 ratio) for MIG welding operations. This eco-friendly gas blend significantly reduces the carbon footprint compared to pure CO₂, supporting our broader environmental goals. The transition has already shown remarkable progress, with CO₂ consumption dropping from 381.

135 MT in FY 22–23 to 98.25 MT in FY 24–25, marking a major step in emission reduction. Upon full implementation, this initiative is expected to yield potential CO₂ gas savings of approximately 200–250 MT per year, contributing to lower greenhouse gas emissions and reinforcing Skipper’s dedication to cleaner, more sustainable manufacturing practices.
